Tegan Ellis

Teacher

Miss Tegan began dancing at the age of 5 and was trained in Classical, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical and Hip Hop in Hervey Bay.  Since then she has obtained her CSTD Full teaching diploma, Zumba Instructor Licence, First Aid Certificates and is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Special Education) through USQ.  In 2007-2009 she owned her own dance studio in Hervey Bay but decided to dedicate more time to her 2 young boys and take on the role of a dance teacher at Sparks Dance Centre.  During her 15 year experience as a dance teacher she has successfully trained students for examinations, competitions, solos and has received awards at regional and national level for choreography with her competition teams.  In 2014 she was part of the choreography team for the Disney Tour in LA, USA.  Many of Miss Tegan’s elite students have continued to study dance in full time dance schools which has further lead them to various careers in the dance industry.  She realises that everyone comes to dance class for different reasons, whether it be to work toward a career in dance or for a hobby, classes are diversified to suit their dance needs.  Miss Tegan loves working with the children at Sparks DC and is committed to providing them all quality dance education within a nurturing and inspiring environment.
     
 

Bonnie Humphrey

Teacher

Bonnie started her dancing journey at the age of 5, like most girls she started with ballet, jazz and tap classes. Ballet proved to be her love. Bonnie danced with one of Melbourne's elite dance schools, Melbourne Dance Xchange, and was part of their Special Events Team, performing at various venues and events. While at Melbourne Dance Xchange she performed in the "2006 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony". Bonnie then went onto The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet under guidance of Christine Walsh, Ricardo Ella, Valmai Roberts and Kerry McArthur, completing her Certificate 3 & 4 in Dance in only just one year, and then completing her Diploma Of Dance fulltime in 2 years. Bonnie has performed in ballets such as, "Swan Lake", "The Sleeping Beauty", and "The Nutcracker" at venues such as the Princess Theatre, Comedy Theatre, The National Theatre and Hamer Hall in Melbourne. Miss Bonnie is excited to be part of Sparks Classical Coaching stream as well as taking the studios elite ballet technique classes. Miss Bonnie looks forward to sharing her expert knowledge with our students and helping them achieve their goals.
     
 

Gunilla Myren

Teacher

Born in Sweden, Gunilla studied music, singing, performance techniques and conducting at the University of Gothenburg. She has worked in the field of music as a singer, singing teacher, vocal coach, teacher and choir conductor since 1992. She came to Australia in 2004 after living and working in India and the Middle East.
In Hervey Bay Gunilla has worked with the Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts at TAFE, as a music and singing teacher at Star of the Sea Primary School and with the ZPAC Theatre both as vocal coach and composer of music for various plays. Currently she is based in Hervey Bay teaching singing at Star of the Sea Primary School, The Fraser Coast Anglican College, Sparks Dance Centre and operating Gunilla Myren School of Singing.

     
 

Caleb Ryan

Teacher 

Mr Caleb moved to Hervey Bay 9 years ago to study a diploma of sport and cert 4 in fitness, his love of all things movement and fitness has taken him many places over the years and he loves learning and then teaching these skills. Caleb is a personal trainer and swimming coach, for the last 7 years he has specialised in teaching babies all the way through to adults. Mr Caleb has come to realise his passion is working with children and helping them to develop their potential to their fulllest so they can achieve all they are capable of.

"As a teacher we do so much more than just teach children new skills, we are a part of their development process ". "We inspire them to do their best, achieve things they never thought possible and to be confident in themselves” . Calebs love for acrobatics came about 6 years ago while watching cirque du soleil and since then he has trained and learnt anything he can involving individual and partner acrobatics. Caleb combines this with his knowledge of his studies in personal training and human development and movement so that he can teach his students safely and correctly in all things.

Mr Caleb is excited to be working with your children and teaching them things they have always dreamed of doing.
     
 

Faan Jaemsaidee

Teacher 

Miss Faan was a competitive gymnast for 8 years making her way all the way up to national competition level and trained/coached by Olympic gymnasts. Faan knows what it takes to be the best and cannot wait to share her skills and knowledge with all the children she mentors!

After retiring from her gymnastics career Miss Faan was still very much intrigued with all forms of fitness from cliche gym workouts to yoga, acro yoga, boxing, Crossfit and body building. "I move my body everyday and make sure I can fit in time for fun and fitness!”
Miss Faan has recently started competing in body sculpting competitions, competing in her very first competition this year taking home trophies and hoping to compete in many more in the future.

"I am so excited to be a part of the Sparks team and cannot wait to show these wonderful students what they can do and to improve a little everyday!!

Holly Gould

Teacher 

Born and raised in Hervey Bay Holly started dancing at the age of 5. Trained in all styles of dance Holly left the Bay once she finished Yr 12 to further her training in Performing Arts at The Edge Performance Agency in Victoria under the guidance of director Todd Patrick and Teachers Andrew Hallsworth, Tim McDonald, Kim Adams, Phillip Haddad, Adrian Tabourni and Amanda Stone. After completing her Cert 4 in Performing Arts in 2006 she moved on to train fulltime for another year at Patrick Studio’s Australia where she was given the opportunity to perform in a variety of annual Commercial Gigs like “Countdown Spectacular 1&2” at Rod Laver Arena, “KPMG Balls” at Crown Palladium, “Price Waterhouse Coopers Functions” at the Regent Theatre and as an extra in Ricki Lee’s “Cant Touch It” film clip.
 
After having a break from dancing and teaching over the past 4-5 years, concentrating on a few other passion’s of her’s Holly has completed her Diploma in Event and Wedding Planning and becoming a Mum, Holly is excited to be back with the dancing industry and back at our studio in a different role, learning new skills and getting to know all our students and parents at Sparks DC.     
   
     

 

Jzer Miro

Guest Teacher - Hip Hop

Mr Jzer is our Opens Hip Hop Teacher. Born in the philippines Mr Jzer moved to Australia last year. Mr Jzer started dancing when he was 11 and created his own dance crew overseas. Self taught and inspired by dancers all around the world Mr Jzer brings Krumping, Pop-locking, break dancing and isolations to the studio.  Mr Jzer is the Choreographer and founder of New Existance, and Excile dance crew. Mr Jzer's motto is ... To be the best you need to beat the best! Mr Jzer is excited to meet you all and can't wait for class to start!
