Our Commitment to Child Safety

At Sparks Dance Centre, the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every child is our highest priority.
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and empowering environment where every child feels respected, valued and supported to learn, grow and enjoy dance. We have zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, neglect, harm or exploitation.
Every decision we make places the wellbeing of the child before performance outcomes, trends or titles. Creating a child safe environment is a shared responsibility between our staff, students, families, volunteers and wider community.

Our Healthy Dance Philosophy

At Sparks Dance Centre, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported and encouraged.
We value kindness, resilience, personal growth and confidence above trophies or titles. Our goal is to nurture happy, healthy dancers by creating an environment where children feel empowered to challenge themselves, celebrate their achievements and develop a lifelong love of dance.

Children’s Participation

We believe children have the right to be heard and to participate in decisions that affect them.
At Sparks Dance Centre we:

Encourage children to express their ideas, ask questions and provide feedback.

Listen respectfully to children’s views and concerns.

Encourage children to speak up if they ever feel unsafe, uncomfortable or worried.

Promote confidence, independence and self-advocacy.

Involve children in age-appropriate decisions that help shape a positive studio environment.

Children’s voices help us continually improve the way we teach, communicate and support every student.

Inclusion and Respect

Sparks Dance Centre welcomes children of every ability, culture, faith, family structure, gender identity and background.
We celebrate individuality and believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected, valued and included. We actively promote kindness, empathy and respect throughout all classes, performances and studio activities.
